Jeder Institute Ltd

Border towns ask more of their practitioners. We think that's exactly why good BSPs are drawn to them.
Albury-Wodonga is a genuinely unique place to do behaviour support work. The Murray River doesn't care about state boundaries - and neither do the people who live alongside it. You might be working with a participant in NSW one week and VIC the next, navigating two different systems with the same person at the centre of it all.
That cross-border complexity, far from being a headache, is part of what makes this role interesting. And Jeder Institute is looking for a Proficient-level BSP who sees it the same way.
We're a national collective of NDIS practitioners - independent, values-led, and grounded in a decade of strengths-based, community development practice. No head office. No managers. Just a shared commitment to doing this work well, and a community of practitioners who hold each other to it.
Not quite at Proficient yet but close? Get in touch anyway - we'd love to know about you for future opportunities.

BUILT DIFFERENT. BEYOND SERVICES. NEVER ALONE.
Three things that set Jeder apart - and they matter more than they might sound.
Built Different.
Our practitioners have no affiliated services, no referral targets, and no corporate pressure. When you sit down with a participant, the only agenda in the room is theirs. Not ours. Not a funder's. Not a service provider's. Structurally, genuinely, theirs. That's not a value statement - it's how we're built.
Beyond Services.
Jeder's practice is rooted in a decade of Asset Based Community Development. We start with what people already have - their strengths, their relationships, their community - and we build from there. As a BSP at Jeder, you're not just writing plans. You're helping people build a life. That's a different kind of practice, and it takes a different kind of practitioner.
Never Alone.
Behaviour support can be isolating work. Complex cases, ethical grey areas, the weight of decisions that matter. At Jeder, you'll be part of a connected national community of practitioners - with peer support, shared learning, and biannual Gatherings (one online, one face-to-face) built into how we work. That depth of community doesn't just make the job better. It makes the practice better.

WHY ALBURY/WODONGA?
Albury-Wodonga has a strong community heart and a real need for skilled, ethical BSPs who understand how life looks on both sides of the border. Existing networks and relationships in the region - on either side - would be a genuine head start.
If you know this community and want to serve it well, that matters to us.

WHAT THE ROLE ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
Day to day, you'll be developing and delivering Positive Behaviour Support Plans grounded in evidence, ethics and genuine relationship. Some days that's methodical and process-driven. Some days it's sitting with a family in a really hard moment and helping them find a way through.
More specifically, you'll be:

Assessing participants' needs and developing interim and comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans

Conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments to understand what's driving behaviours of concern

Lodging BSPs with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as required

Identifying, reporting on, and actively working toward the elimination of restrictive practices

Providing training and support to participants and their circles of support

Monitoring, reviewing and updating plans throughout the year

Navigating cross-border requirements between NSW and VIC where relevant

Meeting NDIS reporting requirements and keeping accurate, up-to-date records

IS THIS YOU?
You'll feel right at home here if:

You hold a relevant degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Allied Health, or Behavioural Science

You've been assessed as suitable at Proficient level by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - you can independently develop behaviour support plans for participants with moderate complexity, including in some restrictive practice contexts

You're ready to work now - and you bring an existing caseload, networks or referral relationships with you

You lead with curiosity and ethics, not just compliance

You communicate clearly, write well under pressure, and meet your deadlines

You can hold complexity without rushing to resolve it

You're comfortable navigating cross-border complexity between NSW and VIC

You're drawn to strengths-based, community development practice - not just service coordination

Training in Person-Centred Thinking, ABCD or Art of Hosting is a genuine plus

You might find this role frustrating if you're not yet confident working across jurisdictions, or if you need a structured induction period before picking up a caseload. We're looking for someone who can step in and start making a real difference straight away - someone who sees the border as a feature, not a complication.

WHERE THIS COULD TAKE YOU
We're not just looking for someone to fill a role. We're looking for someone to grow with us.
If you're working toward Advanced-level practice, or you'd love to develop into mentoring, leadership or community development work - Jeder is a place where that pathway exists. We're building something here, and the practitioners who join us now will help shape what that looks like.

A NOTE ON LEVEL
We're specifically looking for practitioners assessed as suitable at Proficient level by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Proficient practitioners can independently develop behaviour support plans for participants with moderate complexity needs, including in some restrictive practice contexts.

HOW PAY WORKS
This role is paid under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS Award MA000100) at the appropriate classification level based on your qualifications and experience.

WHAT YOU'LL GET

Genuine flexibility - work from home and in the community, your way

A coaching team to support your practice from day one

Peer connection and shared learning through our national practitioner community

Biannual Gatherings - one online, one face-to-face - with the whole Jeder community

A genuine pathway toward Advanced practice, mentoring and leadership

A workplace that takes ethics, quality and reflective practice as seriously as you do

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS

NDIS Worker Screening Check (national)

Working with Children Check (NSW and VIC)

National Police Check (no older than 2 years)

NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner suitability - Proficient level

Right to work in Australia

As this role may involve working with participants in both NSW and VIC, WWCCs are required in both states.
