Bespoke Joinery Estimator

Job Overview

SB Joinery is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our Commercial Team. Responsible for managing bespoke joinery tenders from enquiry through to project handover, you will prepare accurate and competitive quotations for windows, doors, staircases, and specialist joinery packages.

Working closely with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, architects, and internal teams, you will play a key role in securing profitable work, identifying value engineering opportunities, and supporting the successful delivery of high-quality bespoke joinery projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage bespoke joinery tenders from initial enquiry through to quotation submission and project handover.
• Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and tender documentation to determine project scope and requirements.
• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for bespoke windows, doors, staircases, and specialist joinery packages.
• Liaise with customers, architects, designers, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain information and clarify project requirements.
• Produce and issue subcontractor and supplier enquiries and evaluate returned quotations.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions while maintaining quality and client expectations.
• Complete quantity take-offs and prepare detailed cost breakdowns using company estimating systems.
• Negotiate quotations and support the conversion of tenders into secured orders.
• Assist with project handovers by providing clear commercial and technical information to Operations and Production teams.
• Maintain accurate records of quotations, communications, tender outcomes, and estimating data.
• Protect SB Joinery's commercial interests throughout the tendering process.

Skills

• Proven experience as an Estimator within bespoke joinery, construction, fit-out, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
• Strong understanding of joinery materials, manufacturing processes, and installation methods.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, schedules, and architectural plans.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify value engineering opportunities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.

Pay: From £50,000.00 per year
