Role Description The BESS / Storage Lead is a contract, on-site role based in Teseney, responsible for overseeing battery energy storage systems (BESS) and related infrastructure. This role includes leading the design review, implementation, and operational oversight of storage solutions, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and Bureau Veritas procedures. The BESS / Storage Lead coordinates with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to manage system performance, capacity planning, and data integrity, while identifying risks and recommending mitigation measures. Day-to-day tasks involve monitoring storage systems, diagnosing and resolving issues, optimizing replication and redundancy strategies, and preparing technical reports and documentation. The role also includes supporting audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives for BESS projects on site.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Storage Management and Storage Solutions for battery energy storage systems.
• Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting and Infrastructure to diagnose issues and maintain reliable system operations.
• Candidates should possess experience with Replication and related data protection strategies in storage environments.
• Relevant experience with BESS design, commissioning, and operations, preferably in industrial or utility-scale projects.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, grid integration, and safety standards for energy storage facilities.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on site and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Degree in engineering (electrical, energy, or related field) or equivalent practical experience in energy storage projects.
