Beverage Merchandiser

POSITION SUMMARY

Work with the Beverage Manager and other store personnel to provide customers with a memorable shopping experience.

Proactively engage with customers to assist with beverage purchases, and keep the beverage department fully stocked,

attractively merchandised, and well organized.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Possess a general understanding of beverage products to assist customers with purchases.
• Support the needs of the business in stocking, merchandising, and maintaining the beverage department.
• Support manager in maintaining inventory, stock levels, replenishment based on established protocols and any

and all other tasks as assigned.

• Continue to grow and develop your understanding of the beverage industry, including craft beer, wine, and other

beverage trends, producers, and new product offerings.

• Provide customers with a great shopping experience with a professional and positive attitude.
• Set up displays and stock shelves with new and replacement merchandise, rotating product as needed.
• Complete accurate check-in of weekly deliveries from all beverage suppliers. Ensure outdated product is

accounted for and credit is obtained.

• Resolve all customer requests promptly and facilitate special order requests to ensure a positive experience.
• Ensure merchandise is properly priced and tagged.
• Rotate stock to maintain freshness, watching for outdated product, keeping displays faced and full.
• Maintain departmental cleanliness and sanitation as required.
• Abide by all Island Market procedures and safety standards.
• Perform other assigned tasks.

• Experience in a similar environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and evenings
• Ability to calculate discounts and percentages
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work unsupervised and display effective time management
• Ability to gain in-depth knowledge about products specific to the department
• Good analytical, organizational, and planning skills
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal & written)

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise in a warehouse environment
• Required to stand and walk for the entire shift (up to 8 hours)
• Regularly required to lift and carry 15 to 30 lbs
• Occasionally required to lift 40 lbs or more
• Regularly required to bend, squat, and kneel while stocking and setting displays

This position is eligible for Prime Time Pay. Prime Time Pay provides an additional $3/hour above the base rate for all hours worked Saturdays and Sundays and hours worked Monday through Friday between 6:00 pm and 3:00 am.

Salary Description

$18-20/hr + Prime Time Pay when eligible
