BI Analyst (Power BI)

Our client is a financial services organisation that has recently built a Microsoft Fabric data platform. Their data is clean and ready, and they are now looking for a BI Analyst to automate and modernise their finance reporting.

The objective of this position is to take their existing manual Excel reports and rebuild them in Power BI, allowing users to simply refresh reports to access the latest data.

Responsibilities:

• Build Power BI reports across AR, AP, GL and broader finance / management accounting
• Work with the Credit team to improve reporting
• Translate existing Excel reports and calculations into Power BI
• Develop appropriate data models, Power Query and DAX calculations
• Use SQL to investigate and validate data where required
• Work closely with Finance SMEs to validate reports, make adjustments and test functionality
• Help standardise reporting and remove manual/duplicated Excel processes

Required skills:

• Strong Power BI development experience
• DAX and data modelling expertise
• Basic/intermediate SQL
• Strong Excel and financial reporting experience
• Ability to work directly with Finance SMEs and translate requirements into reporting solutions
• Strong attention to detail and data validation skills

Desirable: Microsoft Fabric, ERP, accounting or finance reporting experience, ideally within financial services.

This is a hands-on delivery role with significant stakeholder engagement.
