Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a team responsible for building and modernizing data pipelines that move data from external bureaus and vendors into internal business teams. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an engineer who can design and develop scalable data processing solutions while helping drive the modernization of legacy data infrastructure.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Python or Java, and Spark , along with the technical leadership and communication skills needed to influence engineering decisions and mentor others. Experience with AWS and legacy modernization is highly valued

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data processing solutions.
• Build solutions using Databricks, Spark, Snowflake, and Python/Java .
• Develop and support data movement processes from external bureaus and vendors to internal teams.
• Process and integrate new vendor data into existing data platforms and workflows.
• Modernize legacy data pipelines and help transition existing processes to modern cloud-based technologies.
• Troubleshoot and optimize data processing workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Provide technical leadership and contribute to architecture and engineering decisions.
• Collaborate closely with other engineers, technical leaders, and business stakeholders.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other team members.
• Help establish engineering best practices around development, testing, deployment, and data processing.

Required Qualifications

• Significant experience in data engineering , preferably at a Senior, Staff, or equivalent level.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Databricks
• Apache Spark
• Snowflake
• Python and/or Java
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership on complex engineering initiatives.
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, data processing, and data integration.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an onsite team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS and cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience modernizing legacy data pipelines or applications .
• Experience working with external data vendors, bureaus, or third-party data sources.
• Experience mentoring engineers or serving as a technical lead.
• Experience transitioning legacy data processing solutions to modern technologies.
