What they need

About the role

Join FNZCCI in a hands-on business development role at the heart of France–New Zealand–French Pacific trade.

You will develop international business opportunities, deliver business services to companies entering or expanding in these markets, and lead major French Pacific projects. Working closely with the General Manager in a small team, you will have significant autonomy and a direct impact on the Chamber's results.

The role combines commercial development, international project leadership, stakeholder management and trade missions. One week you might be developing a market-entry project for an SME; the next, leading preparations for a trade mission to New Caledonia and French Polynesia.

This is not a communications or marketing role. The focus is on business development, international trade, relationship management and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and convert business opportunities between France, New Zealand and the French Pacific.
  • Deliver Team France Export business services, including market studies, prospecting missions and B2B meetings, in partnership with Business France and regional CCIs.
  • Manage prospects and client relationships from initial conversation through to delivery, including proposals, quotes and follow-up.
  • Lead the French Pacific Business Forum 2027 in Auckland.
  • Lead the 2027 New Zealand trade mission to New Caledonia and French Polynesia, including participants, partners, programme, budget and logistics.
  • Build and maintain relationships with businesses, institutional partners and key stakeholders across the region.
  • Support FNZCCI's membership, V.I.E programme, flagship events and wider strategic projects.

About you

You are a commercially minded, highly organised and proactive professional who enjoys working across cultures, sectors and projects.

To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Excellent professional proficiency in both written and spoken French and English is essential, with the confidence to communicate independently with business and institutional stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated professional experience in business development, commercial development, partnerships and/or international trade, ideally in an international or cross-border context.

  • Experience identifying, developing and converting business opportunities, including prospecting, client relationship management and developing commercial proposals.

  • Project management experience, ideally involving trade missions, delegations, business events or other multi-stakeholder projects.

  • Strong relationship-building and client management skills.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and projects autonomously and meet deadlines.

  • A hands-on, get-things-done approach, comfortable moving between strategic thinking and detailed follow-up.

  • Strong organisational skills, initiative and attention to detail.

  • A genuine interest in developing business relationships between France, New Zealand and the French Pacific.

Knowledge of or networks in New Caledonia and/or French Polynesia would be a strong advantage.

  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • A small, collaborative team where your contribution has a direct and visible impact.
