Job Description

La Reyna Seafood Bar is hiring 2 Assistant Managers to join our leadership team.

This is a hands-on Assistant Manager / Wait Staff position. You will not simply be standing back and supervising the restaurant. Waiting tables and directly serving guests is a regular part of this position, along with helping lead the restaurant, train employees, maintain our standards, and drive sales.

We are moving toward a two-Assistant-Manager leadership system where both managers take ownership of the restaurant's day-to-day success, hold the team accountable, and work alongside the staff.

We are looking for someone who sees what needs to be done and makes it happen without constantly waiting to be told what to do.

Responsibilities

• Wait tables and provide full food and beverage service to guests
• Serve as the manager/leader on duty during assigned shifts
• Lead by example and work alongside servers and other team members
• Provide excellent hospitality and guest service
• Maintain food quality, drink presentation, cleanliness, speed, and service standards
• Learn the restaurant's sales numbers and key performance goals
• Help increase food, beverage, appetizer, and overall restaurant sales
• Train new employees and coach existing team members
• Motivate the team and hold employees accountable for performance
• Help create a clean, energetic, fun, and welcoming restaurant atmosphere
• Handle guest concerns and make operational decisions when needed
• Complete required reports and enter information accurately and on time
• Review sales results and identify opportunities for improvement
• Help promote restaurant events, specials, and promotions
• Assist with marketing and generating ideas to bring guests into the restaurant
• Maintain knowledge of the bar menu and help promote cocktails and specialty drinks
• Support management with additional day-to-day restaurant operations as needed

Who We're Looking For

• 18 years of age or older — required
• Bilingual in English and Spanish — required
• Comfortable waiting tables and working directly with guests
• Positive, energetic, and outgoing
• Driven and sales-minded
• Detail-oriented
• Dependable and self-motivated
• Comfortable using computers and completing reports
• Interested in marketing, promotions, and growing restaurant sales
• Comfortable with bar service and knowledgeable about alcoholic beverages
• A strong trainer, motivator, and team leader
• Able to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Someone who takes initiative instead of waiting for instructions

Restaurant leadership experience is preferred, but we are especially interested in candidates with strong serving experience who are ready to take the next step into management.

Compensation

Base Management Compensation: $300/week

Performance Bonus Potential: Up to an additional $400/week, based on goals including:

• Weekly sales performance
• Beverage sales
• Appetizer sales
• Events and special promotions

Because serving tables is part of the position, the employee may also earn tips while serving, depending on the assigned shift and duties.
