Billing Analyst

A great UHY client is seeking an Interim Billing Analyst. The ideal candidate will own the end‑to‑end billing lifecycle for national and regional accounts. This opportunity is with a growing multi-location organization to manage billing operations, accounts receivable support, account reconciliations, dispute resolution, and month-end close activities. This role works closely with Finance & Accounting, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and other internal stakeholders.

Interim Billing Analyst responsibilities:

The Billing Analyst will manage high-volume billing transactions, research discrepancies, resolve billing issues, support A/R activities, and contribute to process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

• Manage billing operations, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely invoicing.
• Support billing and accounts receivable activities, including invoice validation, payment application review, unapplied cash research, and account maintenance.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, including pricing variances, duplicate charges, missing transactions, tax issues, and customer-reported inconsistencies.
• Review transaction data, pricing, and supporting documentation to investigate and resolve billing disputes.
• Perform regular account reconciliations to verify billing accuracy and identify and correct discrepancies.
• Partner with Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and A/R to resolve account issues and improve billing processes.
• Monitor A/R aging, identify delinquent balances, and escalate collection issues as appropriate.
• Support month-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, revenue reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Maintain accurate customer and account information within ERP and billing systems.
• Prepare billing reports, dashboards, and ad hoc financial analyses.
• Assist with developing and documenting billing procedures, internal controls, and process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to improve billing accuracy, reduce errors, and increase process efficiency.
• Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external inquiries regarding billing, account balances, and dispute resolution.

Billing Analyst Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 2+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or related finance experience.
• Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume transactions.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a multi-location, franchise, transportation, automotive, or service-oriented environment.
• Exposure to month-end close, accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting and data visualization tools.
• Experience identifying and implementing billing process improvements.
