Billing Analyst (Telco)

The Utility Billing Analyst manages end-to-end electricity and fuel billing, colocation cost tracking, and revenue collection for Mobile Network Operator (MNO) accounts. Working closely with internal Operations, Analytics, and external Distribution Utilities (EC/DU), this role ensures accurate energy ratio calculations based on RMS and sub-meter readings, timely invoice generation, and month-over-month cost variance analysis. Additionally, this position drives cash flow through proactive Accounts Receivable (AR) management, resolves billing disputes efficiently, and maintains high-integrity financial databases and reporting.

Billing & Utility Cost Management

• Execute Energy & Fuel Calculations: Compute accurate energy allocation ratios for electricity and fuel billing by coordinating with Operations and Analytics teams to analyze sub-meter and RMS meter readings.
• Track & Analyze Colocation Costs: Perform month-over-month validation and variance analysis on colocation utility consumption and costs to identify anomalies and optimize operational expenditure.
• Manage Invoicing Workflows: Prepare comprehensive billing summaries and dispatch invoices to Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) within strict operational timelines.

Accounts Receivable & Dispute Resolution

• Drive Collections & Cash Flow: Oversee end-to-end Accounts Receivable (AR) tracking to ensure prompt settlement of issued MNO invoices and minimize outstanding aging balances.
• Resolve Billing Disputes: Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and MNOs to investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and payment hold-ups efficiently.

Database Administration & Financial Reporting

• Maintain Data Integrity: Update and audit billing databases for all client accounts while assisting with Accounts Payable (AP) database upkeep to ensure system-wide accuracy.
• Deliver Financial Reports: Generate and distribute precise, time-sensitive reports, including Weekly KPI updates, Monthly Billing Summaries, and AR Aging reports.

Stakeholder Management

• Cultivate Strategic Relationships: Build and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional departments, MNO partners, and Electric Cooperatives/Distribution Utilities (ECs/DU) to streamline cross-organizational workflows.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a Bachelor’s/College degree in Engineering

• Proficiency in MS Excel, reporting tools, and data validation techniques

• 1-3 years’ experience in Telecom or Towerco industry in energy billing management

• Knowledge of utility billing processes and contract compliance preferred

• Experienced in data analytics
