BILLING STAFF — i'Deli Cafe

Join Our New Kakkanad Outlet

We are opening a new i'Deli Cafe outlet in Kakkanad, Kochi, and are looking for a responsible, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Billing Staff member to join our team.

The role requires accuracy, efficiency, good communication, and a strong commitment to delivering a smooth and welcoming guest experience.

Billing & Cash Handling

• Handle all customer billing and payment transactions accurately and efficiently while ensuring that bills are processed correctly and promptly.
• Generate customer bills accurately through the POS/billing system.
• Accept and process cash, card, UPI, and other approved payment methods.
• Verify bills, prices, discounts, offers, taxes, and payment details before completing transactions.
• Maintain accurate cash and payment records throughout the shift.
• Perform cash counting and reconciliation at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Ensure proper handling and security of cash and payment receipts.

Guest Experience

• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to every guest at the billing counter.
• Greet guests warmly and assist them with billing-related queries.
• Communicate clearly and courteously with customers.
• Handle billing concerns, corrections, and basic customer complaints professionally.
• Ensure a smooth and efficient checkout experience, particularly during busy periods.
• Maintain a positive and welcoming attitude at all times.

POS & Order Management

• Operate the restaurant's POS and billing systems efficiently and accurately.
• Enter and process orders correctly.
• Coordinate with service and kitchen teams regarding order requirements or billing corrections.
• Verify order details before finalising bills.
• Process cancellations, voids, discounts, refunds, and corrections according to company procedures.
• Ensure all transactions are properly recorded in the system.

Daily Reporting & Reconciliation

• Maintain accurate records and support the outlet's daily financial closing procedures.
• Prepare daily billing and collection reports.
• Reconcile cash, card, UPI, and other payment collections.
• Report discrepancies immediately to the Restaurant Manager or authorised supervisor.
• Maintain proper records of receipts, bills, and payment transactions.
• Assist with daily closing procedures and documentation.

Coordination & Teamwork

• Work closely with the restaurant team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Coordinate with the service team regarding orders and guest requirements.
• Communicate with the kitchen team when clarification is required.
• Support the Restaurant Manager and supervisors with billing-related operational requirements.
• Assist the team during peak hours whenever required.

Accuracy & Compliance

• Maintain high standards of accuracy, discipline, and compliance with i'Deli Cafe operating procedures.
• Follow all billing, cash-handling, and POS procedures.
• Ensure that no transaction is processed without proper authorisation.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and customer information.
• Follow company policies regarding discounts, complimentary items, refunds, and cancellations.
• Report any suspected errors, discrepancies, or irregularities promptly.

Counter & Outlet Presentation

• Maintain a clean, organised, and professional billing area.
• Keep the billing counter clean and well organised.
• Ensure POS equipment, receipt printers, and other billing equipment are maintained properly.
• Maintain professional grooming and personal presentation.
• Ensure the billing area reflects the clean and premium image of i'Deli Cafe.

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in billing, cashier, restaurant, café, retail, or hospitality operations preferred.
• Experience using POS or restaurant billing software is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a café, restaurant, QSR, or premium hospitality environment will be an added advantage.
• Freshers with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn may also be considered.

Education

• Plus Two / Higher Secondary or equivalent preferred.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree will be an advantage.
• Relevant experience and demonstrated ability may also be considered.
