Billing Associate

We’re partnering with a leading client to find a Billing Associate to join their team. This role puts you in charge of the commissions reporting process and the billing operations behind it, so the people who depend on those numbers get them accurate and on time. You’ll spend your days tracking down unbilled accounts, fixing errors at the source, and making each cycle run smoother than the last.

What You’ll Own

• You’ll own the commissions reporting process end to end, with room to streamline how it runs.
• You’ll submit pricing files to external partners and keep pricing on applicable sites current and accurate.
• You’ll review accounts receivable (AR) balances and resolve rejected payments for the Illinois market’s external billing files.
• You’ll review daily usage-not-billing reports to find unbilled accounts, then troubleshoot and resolve billing errors across systems.
• You’ll validate shadow billing reports against internal data and work exception reports, including Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) batch log items that didn’t post.
• You’ll support payment posting, monthly reconciliations, rerate analysis, accounting reports, and customer billing inquiries, plus complaint handling and third-party verification (TPV) call reviews when needed.

What You Bring

Must-haves

• 1+ years of experience in billing operations, accounts receivable, or a related field to work on live accounts from day one.
• You’ll use advanced Excel daily, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
• You’ll apply a detail-first, analytical approach to spot discrepancies and turn them into process improvements.
• You’ll partner with accounting, operations, and customers, so clear written and verbal communication will be part of your daily work.

Nice-to-haves

• Excel macros experience, which you’ll get to use to automate recurring reports.
• Familiarity with EDI transactions or billing system exception queues.
