Billing Data Specialist - Cafe

Duties

• Process and verify billing transactions using various financial software including QuickBooks, Sage, and specialized billing systems
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions with accuracy, ensuring timely collection and payment processing
• Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain precise financial records in accordance with GAAP standards
• Analyze Excel data using formulas and data analysis techniques to identify discrepancies or trends in billing data
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing inquiries, collections accounts, and payment statuses via phone or email
• Conduct regular audits of billing data to ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal policies
• Support month-end closing activities by preparing detailed spreadsheets, reports, and analysis for management review

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on billing, accounts receivable, or collections management
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems; experience with financial software integration is a plus
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX compliance requirements, and technical accounting concepts
• Skilled in Excel data analysis, including the use of formulas, spreadsheets, account analysis, and reconciliation techniques
• Excellent attention to detail with high accuracy in data entry (including 10 key typing) and math skills
• Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; professional phone etiquette is essential
• Ability to perform analysis using Excel formulas and create comprehensive reports for management decision-making
• Familiarity with journal entries, debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation processes
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
