Billing Executive

We are seeking a Billing Executive with a minimum of 6 months of experience or motivated freshers to manage front-line hospital billing workflows. The ideal candidate will handle both inpatient (IP) and outpatient (OP) billing, provide compassionate financial counselling to patients, and manage insurance claim coordination. This role requires flexibility, including the capability to travel and provide operational support across multiple hospital branches when required.

Role & responsibilities

Hospital Billing Operations & Patient Counselling

• Handle IP Billing & OP Billing operations efficiently using the Hospital Information System (HIS), ensuring accuracy in service charges, doctor fees, room rents, and pharmacy tabs.
• Handle financial counselling for patients and attendants, explaining treatment packages, expected medical expenses, advance payment requirements, and discharge clearance steps transparently.
• Support smooth and hassle-free billing workflows to minimize waiting times and elevate the overall patient satisfaction experience during discharge.

2. Insurance Claim Coordination & Follow-up

• Follow up on unpaid, delayed, and rejected insurance claims by coordinating with Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) and corporate insurance companies.
• Coordinate with relevant internal teams (such as medical records, corporate relations, and doctors) to gather missing documentation for quick claim resolution and payment clearance.

3. Multi-Branch Mobility & On-Site Support

• Travel to multiple hospital branches as required by the management to maintain operational consistency.
• Provide temporary on-site operational support at different branches during peak hours, staff shortages, or new facility transition phases.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Any Graduate
• Technical Proficiency: Basic knowledge of computers, ease with data entry, and working familiarity with MS Excel. Experience using hospital billing software is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional patience, empathy, and communication skills to handle patient queries under stressful scenarios.
• Language Skills: Fluency in Malayalam and basic English is required to converse effectively with local patients and corporate insurance desks.
• Mobility: Must be willing to travel to regional branches for temporary assignments.
