Billing Specialist

Duties

• Prepare, review, and process invoices using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage to ensure timely billing cycles.
• Manage accounts receivable by tracking payments, reconciling customer accounts, and following up on overdue balances.
• Perform account reconciliation tasks including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to maintain data integrity.
• Handle data entry with precision in multiple systems like Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, and PeopleSoft while ensuring accuracy in financial records.
• Support accounts payable functions by verifying vendor invoices and processing payments efficiently.
• Conduct journal entries and double-entry bookkeeping to accurately record financial transactions in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.
• Assist with month-end closing activities such as account analysis and ledger review to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information and adhere to all internal controls and policies.

Skills

• Extensive experience with accounting systems including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, UltiPro, Ceridian, Kronos, ADP or Paychex.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel data analysis skills and spreadsheet management.
• Demonstrated ability in data entry, account reconciliation, and bookkeeping with high accuracy.
• Excellent numeracy skills combined with a solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger management.
• Experience in accounts receivable management, credit analysis, budgeting, and financial services is highly desirable.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
• Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills to collaborate across teams.

Pay: $24.19 - $29.13 per hour
