Billing Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Specialist to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the end-to-end billing processes, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing for clients and internal departments. Your expertise in financial software, accounting principles, and data management will drive efficiency and compliance across all billing activities. Duties

• Prepare, review, and process invoices using various financial software such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and others to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements
• Manage accounts receivable by tracking payments, following up on overdue accounts, and reconciling customer accounts through detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation
• Perform journal entries related to billing activities, including debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records
• Handle data entry tasks with high precision using 10 key typing skills and double entry bookkeeping techniques while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies promptly and provide exceptional customer service to clients regarding billing inquiries
• Support month-end closing processes by preparing reports on accounts receivable management, aging analysis, and budget variance analysis
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems such as PeopleSoft, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, ADP, or other ERP platforms to streamline billing workflows

Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting practices
• Experience with financial software such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian or similar systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel data analysis skills using spreadsheets for reporting and reconciliation purposes
• Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal controls related to billing processes
• Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to perform account analysis and credit analysis accurately
• Effective communication skills for customer service interactions and cross-department collaboration
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $28.83 - $31.70 per hour
