Billing Specialist

Charge Entry and Billing: Code and enter charges for all hospital visits and office visits accurately and in a timely manner.
Enter charges for MEC procedures and ensure all applicable services are properly documented and billed.
Sort, review, and reconcile all office visit encounters to ensure accurate accounting and complete documentation.
Verify and document patient copayments to ensure payments are posted appropriately at the time of charge entry.
Scan and submit InstaMed logs to MHS in accordance with established procedures.
Respond to patient and staff inquiries regarding insurance coverage, billing, payments, and related concerns.
Collect patient payments over the phone and accurately document transactions.
Process, monitor, and reconcile insurance and patient payments to ensure accurate account balances.
Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and issues related to coding, insurance claims, referrals, and authorizations.
Investigate and resolve referral and insurance authorization issues to support timely billing and reimbursement.
Maintain accurate billing records and ensure charges and payments are entered within established timelines.
