Billing Specialist/Precertification Coordinator

We are looking for a billing specialist/precertification coordinator to add to our team. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who works well with a team-oriented environment.

• Verifies eligibility for all procedures at ASC and hospitals, including authorization and precertification if needed.
• Verifies eligibility for all imaging ordered including authorization and precertification if needed.
• Informs patients of financial responsibility for procedures, attempting to collect prior to procedure arrival time.
• Serves as patient account representative, answering patient questions in regards to bills and payments.
• Posts payments from insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and patients according to policy, including ERA, lockbox and mail.
• Reconciles all day folders, including balancing, verifying cash deposit and scanning to Day Folder.
• Serves as backup working denials and processing appeals as needed.
• Ensures all posted payments match the applicable fee schedule.
• Performs special projects as assigned by management within the scope of knowledge and expertise.
• Serves as back up for fax inbox, including processing referrals as needed.

Full-time on-site position

Hours:

• Monday-Thursday 8AM-5AM
• Friday: 8AM-12PM
