BIM & Project Engineer (M&E)

Our Client is a leading turnkey/design and build specialist contractor, delivering cleanroom (Class 10 to Class 100,000), soundproof room, HVAC, refrigeration and process utility systems including glycol, CDA, PVAC, PCW, LN2, GN2, deionized water, industrial exhaust, scrubbers & etc. Their clients include leading multinational corporations in the semiconductor, electronics, and medical device industries.

About The Role

We are seeking a BIM & M&E Project Engineer who is proficient in BIM coordination and eager to develop hands-on M&E site management skills. You will develop and manage BIM models for cleanroom and MEP projects while supporting site execution, sub-contractor coordination, and commissioning under the guidance of senior engineers. This is a growth-oriented role for candidates who want to build a career in M&E project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update BIM models for cleanroom, ACMV/HVAC, and process utility systems.

• Perform clash detection and coordination across MEP, architectural, and structural disciplines.

• Produce shop drawings, as-built drawings, and construction documentation from BIM models.

• Support design reviews and ensure models comply with project standards and requirements.

• Collaborate with design and project teams to optimize constructability through BIM.

• Utilize BIM360 and AutoDesk software (AutoCAD, REVIT) for coordination works.

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities from construction through commissioning.

• Support site works, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence.

• Monitor project progress and prepare reports on schedules, costs, and site activities.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical issues.

• Attend project meetings and coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors.

• Support on-site mechanical system installation performance, schedule, budget, safety, and commissioning.

• Assist in reviewing Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and identifying non-conformities.

• Support review of sub-contractors' submittals and shop drawings.

• Coordinate internally with other disciplines for interface requirements.

• Assist project manager in project implementation.

• Prepare and compile site meeting minutes, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.

• Assist in testing and commissioning activities, including cleanroom performance tests.

• Review and comprehend design and construction drawings.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-3 years of relevant working experience in a similar capacity with consulting firm or main Contractor on EPC or fast-track construction projects.
• Fresh graduates with strong BIM skills and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with cleanroom or process utility projects is an advantage.
• Good working knowledge in using BIM360 software and AutoDesk software (AutoCAD, REVIT) and MS Office and project management software i.e. Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Procore & etc.
• Basic knowledge of ACMV/HVAC, cleanroom systems, or process utility systems.
• Familiarity with Malaysian building codes and BIM standards.
• Possesses own transport with valid driving license and willing to travel.
