About the Role

Stark Engineering is seeking an experienced and highly capable BIM Coordinator – Architectural & Structural to join our Dubai office.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Architectural and Structural BIM coordination, with a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination, identify and resolve design and modeling conflicts, review consultant and subcontractor models, and ensure BIM deliverables meet project requirements and standards.

The candidate should be confident working independently, coordinating with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and internal project teams, and taking ownership of BIM coordination activities from model review through to coordinated deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

1. BIM Coordination – Architectural & Structural

• Lead day-to-day BIM coordination activities for Architectural and Structural disciplines.
• Coordinate Architectural and Structural models with MEP, façade, landscape, interior, joinery, and other project disciplines.
• Review and coordinate consultant, contractor, and subcontractor BIM models.
• Identify design, geometry, interface, and constructability issues and coordinate their resolution.
• Participate in BIM coordination and technical meetings with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Follow up on outstanding coordination issues and ensure timely closure.
• Escalate critical coordination issues that may affect design, construction, procurement, or project programme.

2. Revit Modeling & Technical Support

• Develop, review, modify, and maintain Architectural and Structural Revit models.
• Review model geometry, levels, grids, coordinates, families, parameters, and model structure.
• Incorporate approved design changes and technical revisions into BIM models.
• Produce and review plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and other BIM documentation.
• Provide technical modeling support to BIM Modelers and project teams when required.
• Ensure models are developed to the required LOD and project BIM standards.

3. Clash Detection & Coordination

• Perform detailed clash detection and interference checks using Navisworks Manage.
• Prepare, review, and manage clash detection reports.
• Analyse clashes and distinguish between hard clashes, clearance issues, design conflicts, and coordination requirements.
• Coordinate with relevant disciplines to resolve clashes and track their status through to closure.
• Conduct regular model federation and coordination reviews.
• Ensure coordination issues are properly documented and communicated to responsible parties.

4. Model Quality Control & BIM Standards

• Conduct regular BIM model audits and health checks.
• Verify model accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
• Check project coordinates, levels, grids, model positioning, naming conventions, worksets, families, parameters, and model performance.
• Ensure compliance with the project's BIM Execution Plan (BEP), BIM standards, workflows, and CDE requirements.
• Review incoming models before federation and coordination.
• Monitor model revisions and ensure the latest approved information is being used for coordination.

5. ACC / CDE & Information Management

• Manage and coordinate BIM information through Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / Common Data Environment.
• Review model uploads, submissions, transmittals, revisions, and publishing workflows.
• Ensure appropriate model versions are available for coordination and project use.
• Maintain BIM coordination records, clash reports, issue logs, and model status information.
• Support effective information exchange between project stakeholders.

6. Design & Construction Coordination

• Review BIM models against construction drawings, design intent, specifications, and site requirements.
• Identify discrepancies between Architectural, Structural, and other discipline information.
• Support the project team in resolving constructability and interface issues.
• Coordinate critical elements such as walls, slabs, beams, columns, openings, shafts, stairs, façade interfaces, ceilings, finishes, and other architectural/structural elements.
• Assist in identifying potential site issues before construction through BIM coordination.

7. Team Coordination & Leadership

• Coordinate effectively with BIM Managers, Architects, Structural Engineers, MEP teams, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Provide technical guidance to BIM Modelers and junior coordinators.
• Review the work of BIM Modelers and ensure required quality standards are maintained.
• Take ownership of assigned coordination packages and deliver them within agreed timelines.
• Participate in project progress meetings and provide clear updates on BIM coordination status.

Requirements & QualificationsExperience

• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant BIM experience, preferably with significant experience in Dubai/UAE projects.
• Strong experience in Architectural and Structural BIM coordination.
• Proven experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, hospitality, mixed-use, or high-rise projects.
• Experience coordinating with multiple disciplines and external consultants/subcontractors.
• Candidates with strong experience in both hands-on Revit modeling and BIM coordination will be preferred.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit – Architecture & Structure.
• Strong proficiency in Navisworks Manage, including clash detection, clash tests, search sets, viewpoints, and coordination reporting.
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of BIM workflows, model federation, CDE processes, and information management.
• Good understanding of BIM Execution Plans (BEP), LOD requirements, model standards, and naming conventions.
• Knowledge of project coordinates, shared coordinates, levels, grids, worksets, families, and model linking.
• Ability to review and coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models.

UAE / Dubai Experience

• Experience working on Dubai/UAE construction projects is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of local project delivery practices and coordination procedures will be an advantage.
• Experience coordinating with UAE-based consultants, contractors, and subcontractors is preferred.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant BIM certifications will be an added advantage.
