BIM Coordinator

About the role

Smitech Engineering Pte Ltd is looking for a BIM Coordinator (Electrical / MEP) to join our project execution team. This role focuses on model creation, spatial coordination, clash detection, and authority submissions for high-spec M&E building services and LTA infrastructure projects in Singapore. You will work closely with our engineering leads, main contractors, LTA officers, and BIM modellers to convert electrical services designs into fully coordinated, collision-free 3D models.

Key responsibilities

• Build, update, and coordinate 3D BIM models for electrical services—including LV/HV distribution, containment, switchboards, cable trays, lighting, power, trunking, ELV systems, and generator setups.
• Conduct spatial clash management using Navisworks and BIM 360 / ACC; identify and resolve interdisciplinary (Electrical vs. Mechanical, Plumbing, BIM/Civil/Structural) clashes before site installation.
• Extract and generate 2D shop drawings, single-line diagram (SLD) spatial layouts, combined services drawings (CSD/M&E), and as-built drawings directly from BIM models for site execution and consultant review.
• Ensure models adhere strictly to LTA VDC/BIM standards, LTA Architectural & Building Works Specifications (A&BWS), project BEP (BIM Execution Plan), and local authority guidelines (EMA, SS638/CP5, BCA).
• Represent Smitech in regular BIM/VDC coordination meetings with Main Contractors, LTA representatives, Consultants, and trade sub-contractors to resolve technical interface issues on-site.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on BIM coordination experience specializing in Electrical / M&E building services in Singapore.
• Proven track record in LTA (Land Transport Authority) transit or infrastructure projects (e.g., MRT stations, depots, bus interchanges, or major road works).
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit (MEP), Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or BIM 360 CDE environments.
• Strong practical understanding of Singapore Electrical Codes (SS638 / CP5), EMA regulations, and LTA BIM submission protocols.
• Capability to read and interpret Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and technical specs.
