BIM Coordinator

About the role

The BIM Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the digital processes during the design and construction stages of a project. They ensure that 3D models, drawings, and structural data are centrally stored and accessible, delivering the project information model to clients. Additionally, they establish and maintain BIM workflows, addressing any coordination issues that may arise. Leading a team of BIM Modeller, the incumbent is overall responsible in executing and coordinating BIM assisted projects. Coordinators are lead modellers with a strong attitude to be able to coordinate interdisciplinary BIM deliverables supplied by consultants or sub-contractors. They assist BIM Manager in creating BIM Contents such as guides and standards as well as libraries. Where VDC is required, they are to assist in collecting data and metrics to facilitate full monitoring of project production KPIs.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the process of managing and creating digital information about different kinds of built assets, such as roads or buildings
• Manage the building information modelling of engineering and construction project teams, enabling these teams to collect information about a project effectively
• Ensure information and data flow in a specific order according to standard BIM methodology
• Educate project teams and management and train them in the use and application of BIM tools used for projects
• Support construction project team by speeding up processes, such as the design phase, to add more value to the project
• Create digital simulations of the on-site workflow to visualize and optimize construction processes
• Verify that the information entered in the BIM is accurate and ensure that exported data from the BIM is correct and complete
• Create and maintain the project's BIM Execution Plan, ensuring it is kept up to date throughout the project's duration
• Configure 3D models using BIM-specific modelling software and modify design templates with modelling tools to meet project requirements
• Participate in meetings with project teams, clients and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of BIM processes and provide guidance on technical concerns

About you

• Minimum diploma in Architecture or Engineering and any related courses
• At least 5 years related work experience in building construction and project execution
• Minimum 3 years BIM Modelling experience
• Completed minimum 2 BIM assisted project coordination or management
• Demonstrated good written communication skills in respect to BIM coordination and project management
• Ability to report to middle management on operational deliverables and guide production team members to meet deliverable objectives in a timely manner
• Must be proficient in BIM troubleshooting skills on operational level with ability to integrate and innovate workarounds to BIM issues
• Highly experienced in BIM authoring to guide team of BIM modellers and ability to work in a fast paced organisation
• Excellent use of Revit and proficiency in BIM software like AutoCAD
• Good foundation in the building and construction trade with critical ability in understanding and coordinating Building Services
