BIM Coordinator

About the role

Yu Tong Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented BIM Coordinator to join our growing. You will play a crucial role in coordinating Building Information Modelling (BIM) activities across our construction projects. As BIM Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing BIM workflows, ensuring data integrity, and facilitating effective communication between design teams, contractors, and stakeholders. This role is strategically important to our organisation as we continue to adopt advanced digital construction methodologies to improve project efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining BIM standards, protocols, and procedures tailored to project requirements
• Coordinating BIM model development across multiple disciplines, ensuring consistency and accuracy
• Managing BIM databases and file structures to ensure proper version control and documentation
• Conducting quality assurance checks on BIM models and identifying discrepancies or clashes
• Facilitating coordination meetings between architectural, structural, and MEP teams to resolve design conflicts
• Creating and updating BIM execution plans and project-specific BIM guidelines
• Training project team members on BIM software and best practices
• Generating construction documentation and schedules from BIM models
• Liaising with consultants and subcontractors to ensure BIM compliance and data exchange
• Documenting and reporting on BIM workflows and project progress to senior management

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum 3 years' experience in BIM coordination or a similar role within construction or architectural firms
• Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, or similar platforms
• Strong knowledge of architectural drafting, design standards, and construction documentation
• Experience with BIM execution planning and model coordination across multiple disciplines
• Excellent understanding of construction processes, drawing conventions, and specifications
• Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail in ensuring model accuracy and consistency
• Preferably, knowledge of Malaysian construction standards and building codes (such as PAM, IEM, or CIDB requirements)
• BIM-related certifications (such as Autodesk certifications) are advantageous
