BIM Drafter

About the role

We are seeking a BIM Drafter to join our Building Services Engineering team at Dong Jian (Singapore) Pte Ltd. This is a full-time position based in the Springleaf North Region. As a BIM Drafter, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining Building Information Models for our building services projects. You will work collaboratively with engineers, architects, and project teams to create accurate digital representations of building systems, ensuring seamless coordination and clash detection. This position is integral to delivering high-quality design documentation and supporting the efficient execution of our projects.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain accurate BIM models for building services systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection installations
• Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings from BIM models for construction documentation and tender purposes
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other building services specialists to ensure BIM model accuracy and completeness
• Perform clash detection and coordination analysis to identify and resolve conflicts between different building systems
• Update and modify BIM models in response to design changes and client feedback
• Ensure compliance with BIM standards, protocols, and company drawing conventions
• Support the production of construction drawings, sections, and schedules from the BIM environment
• Assist in the preparation of BIM documentation for project handover and asset management
• Collaborate with project teams to establish and maintain BIM workflows and documentation standards

What we're looking for

• Proficiency in BIM authoring software, particularly Revit MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) or equivalent building services modelling tools
• Strong knowledge of building services systems and engineering principles relevant to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection
• Competency in 2D CAD software and AutoCAD for producing traditional design drawings
• Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection software
• Solid understanding of building codes, standards, and best practices in Singapore and the region
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality documentation
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately
• Diploma or Higher Nitec qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a BIM Drafter or in a similar CAD/BIM role within building services engineering
• Familiarity with Singapore's building regulations and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) requirements is desirable
