What they need
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Sr. Manager, BIM/VDC to lead and establish BIM/VDC standards across a growing portfolio of large-scale data center development projects.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who has moved beyond simply producing models and has experience defining how BIM/VDC should be executed across projects, consultants, design partners, general contractors and trade subcontractors.
The position is remote with an expectation of spending approximately one week per month at the company’s New York City headquarters, along with occasional project or vendor travel.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and own company-wide BIM/VDC standards, BIM Execution Plan templates, Level of Development matrices, modeling specifications and document-control standards
- Establish consistent model-authoring requirements across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines
- Define standards for naming conventions, file structures, model federation, drawing/calculation submissions and document organization
- Establish and manage clash-detection and coordination workflows using Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360
- Review and approve BIM Execution Plans and federated models produced by engineers of record, general contractors and trade subcontractors
- Lead multi-discipline model coordination and ensure models are constructible, coordinated and compliant with established standards
- Drive BIM-based value engineering, constructability review and prefabrication opportunities
- Support model-based quantity takeoff, estimating and 4D scheduling workflows
- Oversee construction-phase BIM administration, including model-linked RFIs, coordination logs and as-built model updates
- Manage BIM/VDC consultants, design partners, contractors and trade-coordination teams
- Partner closely with mechanical, electrical, controls, construction and commissioning teams
- Help establish workflows that transition accurate as-built models into DCIM, digital twin and facility operations platforms
- Evaluate BIM/VDC technology and software platforms and recommend new tools or providers as the organization scales
- Help build and eventually lead an internal BIM/VDC function
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of progressive BIM/VDC experience
- Experience supporting data centers, hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical facilities or comparable large capital construction
- Prior responsibility as a BIM/VDC technical owner, discipline lead, manager or standards leader, rather than solely a modeler
- Experience establishing and enforcing BIM standards across external design partners, consultants, contractors and trades
- Strong experience with Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 and Civil 3D
- Deep understanding of clash detection, model federation and multi-discipline coordination
- Strong knowledge of BIM Execution Plans, LOD frameworks and model-authoring standards
- Experience with model-based documentation and document-control standards
- Exposure to 4D scheduling, model-based estimating and quantity takeoff
- Familiarity with LiDAR, reality capture, photogrammetry, drone surveying and scan-to-BIM workflows
- Familiarity with digital twins and/or DCIM integration is a plus
- Strong ability to communicate technical standards to engineering firms, contractors, executives and other non-BIM stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field
Preferred
- Hyperscale or colocation data center experience
- ISO 19650 familiarity
- Autodesk certifications
- buildingSMART, PMP or similar professional certification
- Experience building BIM/VDC standards across multiple projects or sites
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $225,000–$250,000
- Annual Cash Bonus: 15%–30%
- Equity: Potential sign-on and annual RSU grants
- Comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage
- 401(k)
- $400 annual wellness stipend
Work Arrangement: Remote, with approximately one week per month in New York City and occasional travel to project/vendor locations.
