BIM Manager/Drafter

B&C Sheet Metal, LLC. is a family-owned and operated company committed to quality workmanship, outstanding customer service, and teamwork. We are seeking a detail-oriented BIM Manager / Drafter to support our construction projects and fabrication shop.

Working with our BIM team, you will develop and maintain Building Information Modeling (BIM) models and the information used to produce accurate construction and fabrication drawings. This position combines computer-based drafting with model management and offers opportunities to expand your technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and update BIM models and drawings based on project requirements, design direction, and drawing markups.
• Prepare fabrication drawings, plans, sections, details, schedules, and sheet layouts.
• Maintain accurate model information and review drawings for completeness, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
• Identify coordination issues and discrepancies, document questions, and assist with resolving them.
• Organize project files, drawing revisions, model updates, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with the BIM team, project personnel, and fabrication shop to communicate progress, incorporate revisions, and meet project deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Working proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Revit.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, follow drawing markups, and understand basic building systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly, manage assigned tasks, and recognize when clarification or assistance is needed.
• Willingness to learn additional software, BIM workflows, and sheet metal fabrication requirements. Training will be provided for additional tools and company processes.

Education and Relevant Experience

• An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Drafting and Design Technology or a related field is strongly preferred. Equivalent technical training or demonstrated drafting experience will also be considered.
• Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, model components, templates, or sheet metal fabrication is helpful. Candidates with limited professional experience who can demonstrate relevant education, training, or drafting skills are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with Navisworks, Microsoft Office applications, and PDF review and markup software is helpful but not required.
