Job Description: BIM Modeller HVAC & Electrical (Solar Industry)

1. Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled BIM Modeller specialising in HVAC and Electrical systems for solar manufacturing facilities, industrial buildings, and solar infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for developing 3D BIM models, preparing detailed engineering drawings, coordinating MEP services, and supporting project design and execution activities.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D BIM models for HVAC and electrical systems using Autodesk Revit MEP.
• Prepare HVAC layouts for air-conditioning, ventilation, exhaust systems, ductwork, and industrial utility areas within solar manufacturing plants.
• Model electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, cable trays, conduits, electrical panels, and equipment connections.
• Develop BIM models for electrical rooms, transformer rooms, inverter rooms, utility buildings, and other plant infrastructure, as applicable.
• Coordinate electrical and HVAC layouts with structural, architectural, civil, and other engineering disciplines.
• Perform clash detection and resolve design conflicts using Autodesk Navisworks.
• Prepare detailed layouts, sections, shop drawings, equipment schedules, and installation drawings.
• Support the engineering design of solar manufacturing facilities, rooftop solar installations, and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, civil, and project execution teams to ensure design accuracy and constructability.
• Incorporate design revisions and site feedback into BIM models and prepare as-built drawings.
• Assist in quantity take-offs, material schedules, and BOQ preparation.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable electrical and safety standards, and BIM execution requirements.

3. Educational Qualifications

• Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.

4. Required Skills and Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in BIM modelling, preferably in industrial, infrastructure, renewable energy, or solar-related projects.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection and coordination.
• Understanding of HVAC systems, electrical layouts, power distribution, cable routing, and industrial building services.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and equipment layouts.
• Familiarity with BIM standards, model coordination, and construction documentation.
• Good analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

5. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in solar manufacturing plants, industrial facilities, warehouses, or renewable energy projects.
• Knowledge of rooftop solar system layouts and coordination of solar-related electrical infrastructure.
• Familiarity with transformer rooms, switchgear rooms, inverter rooms, cable routing, and plant utility systems.
• Experience preparing coordinated 3D models, construction drawings, BOQs, and as-built documentation.

6. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Accuracy and completeness of BIM models.
• Timely delivery of drawings and design updates.
• Effective identification and resolution of clashes.
• Compliance with engineering standards and project requirements.
• Quality of coordination with design and project execution teams.

Ideal Candidate: A technically proficient BIM Modeller with strong Revit MEP skills and experience in HVAC and electrical systems, preferably within industrial facilities, solar manufacturing plants, or renewable energy infrastructure projects.
