Job Description: BIM Modeller Electrical & MEP (Solar Industry)

1. Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled BIM Modeller – Electrical & MEP to develop 3D BIM models and detailed engineering drawings for solar manufacturing facilities, industrial buildings, and solar power projects. The candidate will be responsible for electrical modelling, HVAC and plumbing coordination, clash detection, and preparation of construction drawings to support project design and execution.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D BIM models for electrical and MEP systems using Autodesk Revit MEP.
• Prepare electrical layouts, cable routing, cable trays, conduits, lighting, power distribution, and electrical equipment layouts.
• Model electrical rooms, transformer rooms, inverter rooms, switchgear, LT/HT panels, and associated infrastructure.
• Support solar PV project modelling, including DC/AC cable routing, inverter connections, and electrical Balance of System (BOS) coordination.
• Develop HVAC models covering air-conditioning, ventilation, ductwork, exhaust systems, and mechanical equipment layouts.
• Prepare plumbing and drainage layouts, water supply systems, and other building utility services as required.
• Coordinate electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems with architectural, structural, and civil models.
• Perform clash detection and resolve coordination issues using Autodesk Navisworks.
• Prepare detailed 3D models, 2D layouts, sections, shop drawings, and installation drawings.
• Assist in quantity take-offs, material schedules, equipment schedules, and BOQ preparation.
• Incorporate design revisions and site feedback into BIM models and prepare as-built drawings.
• Coordinate with design engineers, consultants, contractors, and project execution teams.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable engineering standards, and BIM execution requirements.

3. Educational Qualifications

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.

4. Required Skills and Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in BIM modelling, preferably in industrial, infrastructure, renewable energy, or solar-related projects.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Understanding of electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other MEP services.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical SLDs, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of cable routing, electrical equipment layouts, ductwork, piping, and equipment coordination.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows, model coordination, and construction documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

5. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in solar manufacturing plants, industrial facilities, warehouses, or solar power projects.
• Knowledge of solar PV electrical infrastructure, including inverters, transformers, substations, and DC/AC cable routing.
• Experience in multidisciplinary BIM coordination and clash resolution.
• Familiarity with BOQ preparation, construction drawings, and as-built documentation.

6. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Accuracy and completeness of electrical and MEP BIM models.
• Timely completion of drawings and modelling deliverables.
• Effective identification and resolution of design clashes.
• Compliance with project requirements and BIM standards.
• Coordination quality across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and civil disciplines.

Ideal Candidate: A BIM Modeller with strong Revit MEP and AutoCAD skills, practical knowledge of electrical and building services systems, and preferably experience in solar manufacturing facilities or renewable energy projects.
