Binder Operator

About the role

The Manila Times Publishing Corporation is seeking a skilled and reliable Binder Operator to join our Production team. This role is critical to ensuring that our printed materials are professionally finished and ready for distribution. You will work with precision and attention to detail to meet production schedules and maintain quality standards that reflect our company's commitment to excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Operating binding machines and equipment to collate, fold, stitch, and bind printed materials according to specifications
• Loading and feeding materials into binding equipment and monitoring the binding process to ensure accuracy and quality
• Adjusting machine settings, tension, and alignment to achieve the desired binding results
• Inspecting bound materials for defects, proper alignment, and quality standards before packaging
• Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of binding equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Troubleshooting common equipment issues and reporting breakdowns to supervisors for technical support
• Keeping accurate records of production output, machine performance, and any issues encountered
• Following all safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organised work environment
• Collaborating with team members to meet production deadlines and targets

What we're looking for

• Proven experience operating binding machinery and equipment in a printing or publishing environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand equipment specifications and operational manuals
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality finished products
• Ability to work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Physical capability to lift, carry, and position materials and equipment as required
• Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to technological updates in binding equipment
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills to understand production specifications and safety instructions
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
