Biomedical Engineer

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Biomedical Engineer role based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.

The Biomedical Engineer will oversee the installation, testing, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Day-to-day tasks include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, coordinating repairs with vendors, and maintaining accurate documentation of service activities. The role involves collaborating with clinical staff to assess equipment performance, providing user training on medical devices, and supporting the introduction of new technologies. The Biomedical Engineer will also assist with compliance activities, including adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles in a healthcare environment.
• Proficiency in Medical Equipment management, including installation, calibration, and performance verification of diagnostic and therapeutic devices.
• Hands-on experience with Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance programs to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, safety standards, and medical device quality requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clinical teams, vendors, and technical staff.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in a clinical setting.
• Experience in hospital or clinical environments in the UAE or GCC region is an advantage.
