Biomedical Engineer (Wearable Electrodes)

ABOUT US

SPEZL is a printed electronics company in Mumbai. We screen-print functional inks onto fabric, film and glass to make printed heaters, sensors, antennas and wearable electrodes for partners in India and abroad. Our own brand, iðoona, makes heated apparel on the same technology. We are a small team, so your work turns into real products quickly.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will help build our bioelectric layer: dry and textile electrodes that our partners use to record ECG and EEG. You will measure how our electrodes perform, compare them with commercial ones, and help write the test methods we use. This is real work for paying partners, not a side project. You will work directly with the founder.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Measure skin-electrode impedance and signal quality for dry and textile electrodes

• Record and analyse ECG and EEG test signals in Python or MATLAB

• Compare our electrodes with commercial gel electrodes

• Run wear, wash and sweat tests on electrodes and log the results

• Write test protocols and short technical reports

• Review papers and standards (such as ISO 10993) and summarise what matters for us

WHAT YOU BRING

• You are an independent learner. Much of this work is not covered in formal education, so you pick up new materials, tools and methods on your own initiative.

• B.E. / B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering, or M.Tech / M.Sc in a related field

• A solid grasp of biopotential basics: ECG, EEG and EMG

• Python or MATLAB for signal processing

• Careful lab habits and clear notes

NICE TO HAVE

• Hands-on use of an ECG or EEG kit (OpenBCI, AD8232 or similar)

• A college or work project on biosignals or wearables

• Awareness of biocompatibility testing (ISO 10993)

• Basic electronics or soldering
