Biomedical Technician

Reporting To: Bio-Medical Engineer

Position Summary:

• Performs general, routine maintenance and servicing related activities and management of biomedical equipment throughout the hospital as directed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety.

2. Performs maintenance activities on all bio-medical equipment which includes but not limited to plan preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and attend to breakdown calls.

3. Assists Bio-medical engineer in asset management activities which includes but not limited to warranty and contract assets, write-off, calibration, certificates/license renewal and asset reconciliation and others as directed.

4. Performs first line repairs/troubleshooting such as replacing batteries, bulb or patient cable

5. Assists bio-medical engineer in maintaining department record, reports and files as required.

6. Updates on spare parts and maintenance manual as required.

7. Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.

8. Maintains department records, reports and files as required.

9, Performs on-call duties.

10. Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.

11. Attends meetings as required.

12. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Education and Requirements:

• Diploma/ Certificate in engineering or other related discipline.
• Sufficient previous working experience, at least 1-2 years in bio-medical equipment maintenance.
• Be able to write and read in English and Bahasa Malaysia

• Able to communicate well.
• Able to do call when required.
