Biopharma Expert

Overview Handshake is seeking biopharma PhDs to support AI research through flexible, hourly contract work. This is not a traditional full-time law firm, in-house counsel, or government role. You’ll use your real-world legal expertise and professional judgment to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand legal analysis, statutory interpretation, case law reasoning, drafting standards, and professional legal communication.

This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity that can be done alongside your primary employment.

Details This project involves leveraging your expertise as a Biopharmaceutical PhD to design scientifically rigorous, industry-relevant prompts and evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, sound scientific reasoning, clarity, and alignment with real-world biopharmaceutical research and development practices.

• Status: Independent contractor (not a full-time employee role)
• Location: Fully remote; work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection and access to a desktop or laptop computer
• Schedule: Flexible and asynchronous, with no minimum hour requirement. Many contributors work approximately 5–20 hours per week when assigned to an active project
• Duration: The Handshake AI program runs year-round, with projects opening periodically across different areas of expertise. Placement depends on current project needs, with opportunities to be considered for future projects as they become available

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a PhD in Biopharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Chemical Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related discipline.

• Demonstrated doctoral-level expertise is required in one or more of the following areas:

• Genomics & Genetic Engineerin

• Protein & Antibody Engineering

• RNA Therapeutics & Expression Design

• Synthetic Biology & Whole-Cell / Systems Modeling

• Drug Discovery, ADMET, Toxicology & Chemistry-Driven Discovery

• Immunology & Vaccine Development

• Pharmaceutical / Big Pharma Industry Experience

• Candidates should demonstrate rigorous scientific training, deep domain expertise, and applied experience aligned with real-world biopharmaceutical research and development practices.

• No prior AI or technical experience is required.
