What they need
By harnessing the power of cell growth, we are creating state-of-the-art technology inspired by nature that you can use to cultivate real meat outside animal bodies – with no need for slaughter. Cultivated meat is also known as ‘cultured’, ‘cell-based’ or ‘clean’ meat, but for us, it’s called ‘Cellcraft®’ meat. An end-to-end process that can be set up almost anywhere, we will give you the tools to produce meat that’s cleaner, responsible, and scalable – empowering producers and revolutionising animal protein and fat production for a more sustainable food economy.
We are looking for a Bioreactor Engineer with experience in bioreactor development, operation and optimisation to join our core team! You will be adaptable and able to handle a range of cross-functional projects in a fast paced environment. Desirable hands-on expertise (two or more of the following ideally):
Design and operation of continuous perfusion within bioreactor systems
Induced pluripotent stem cell culture
Myogenic and adipogenic differentiation
Working with microcarriers
Fabrication techniques such as prototyping, CAD/CAM, 3D printing and CNC machining, electronic controller development.
Computational modelling of fluid dynamics, cell growth and other phenomena within bioreactors
Programming for bioreactors and sensors, and/or for data analytics.
Sourcing and procurement of materials and equipment for bioreactors
Competitive salary and stock options
Potential for excellent career progression
Exposure to a disruptive and innovative market
Contributing to the development of sustainable and ethical meat
You will work in facilities at the world-renowned, historical University of Cambridge. We are backed by the University of Cambridge Judge Business School and 2 of the world’s leading food-tech VCs.
