Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.

As a Biotech Associate at Lonza in Geleen, you will contribute directly to the manufacturing of advanced cell therapy products in a GMP cleanroom environment. This is a hands-on role where precision, teamwork and a strong quality mindset help bring life-changing therapies to patients.

What you will get

  • A hands-on role in an advanced GMP manufacturing environment.
  • The opportunity to work with innovative cell therapy technologies that help improve patients’ lives.
  • Training and development opportunities to build your manufacturing and technical expertise.
  • A collaborative and supportive team culture focused on quality and continuous improvement.
  • An inclusive and ethical workplace.
  • Compensation programs that recognize high performance.
  • A variety of benefits dependent on role and location.

The full-time annual base pay for this position in The Netherlands is expected to range between €32.250 and €45.150. Initial salary placement within this range will be determined based on role-related factors such as experience, qualifications, and expected contribution.

What you will do

  • Perform cell and tissue culture activities according to GMP procedures.
  • Execute manufacturing steps such as media preparation, cell expansion and harvesting.
  • Work in a cleanroom environment while following strict aseptic techniques.
  • Complete production documentation accurately and on time.
  • Identify and report deviations to help ensure compliance and product quality.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing team.
  • Collaborate with QA, QC and MSAT teams to support efficient manufacturing operations.

What we are looking for

  • Completed laboratory training, vocational education or a bachelor's degree in biotechnology, biology or a related field.
  • Ideally 2 years of experience working in a GMP cleanroom environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
  • Ability to follow procedures accurately and work in a structured manner.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work in a shift pattern, including evenings and weekends. A valid driver's license is required due to limited public transport availability during shift hours.
