Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting the perfect bird supplies, including cages, toys, food, and accessories
• Demonstrate product features and benefits through engaging demos to enhance customer understanding and satisfaction
• Manage retail sales transactions accurately using the POS (Point of Sale) system, handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods with professionalism
• Stock shelves regularly to ensure merchandise is organized, clean, and appealing to shoppers
• Provide expert advice on bird care products and answer customer questions with clear communication and patience
• Upsell complementary products by identifying customer needs and highlighting relevant items to boost sales
• Maintain cleanliness of the store environment, including merchandising displays and product demos to create an inviting shopping space

Requirements

• Previous retail experience preferred, especially in grocery or pet stores with familiarity in stocking and merchandising
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in English; bilingual abilities are a plus
• Experience operating cash registers or POS systems with accuracy in retail math and cash handling procedures
• Demonstrated supervising or leadership experience is advantageous for guiding team members or managing store operations
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge related to birds or pet supplies is highly desirable
• Excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
• Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly for transactions and inventory management
• Prior experience in customer service roles that require active listening, problem-solving, and friendly interaction
