Blacksmith/Welder

Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for shaping, joining, and finishing metal components with precision and skill. Your expertise will contribute to creating durable, high-quality products and structures that meet project specifications. We’re looking for a motivated individual eager to apply their welding talents in a hands-on environment where safety, quality, and craftsmanship are paramount. This role will require the succesful applicant to use their initiative.

Duties

• Perform welding operations for steel beams, plates, gates etc.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble.
• Interpret technical drawings to ensure precise fabrication and assembly of components.
• Prepare surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, or fitting parts together with mechanical knowledge of metals.
• Conduct quality inspections on welds and fabricated parts to ensure they meet safety standards and project requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety protocols during welding and fabrication processes.
• Works will involve site visits to assist with installation of the manufactured items.

Experience

• Proven experience in TIG welding, Stick welding, or both, with a strong understanding of welding techniques and safety procedures.
• Hands-on familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment used in metalworking environments.
• Mechanical knowledge related to metal properties, welding processes, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
• Prior experience in a construction environment is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is highly valued.

The main fabrication yard is located in Houston. Driving licence essential.

Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 39.0 per week
