What they need

Make a Difference. Build Relationships. Grow With Us.

At Step by Step Programs & Services (SBS), we believe meaningful progress begins with meaningful relationships. For more than 28 years, SBS has been dedicated to supporting children, teens, adults, and families through compassionate, individualized services that recognize the whole person—not just a diagnosis.

Our approach brings together Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Floortime/EDU-Ther-a-Play, social-emotional development, and family-centered care to help the individuals we serve build meaningful skills, stronger relationships, confidence, and greater independence.

We are looking for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who wants to do more than oversee programs. We want someone who values collaboration, creativity, family involvement, and the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of the people we serve.

Why Work at SBS?

At SBS, you will be part of a team that values:

  • Relationships over a one-size-fits-all approach
  • Person-centered and family-centered services
  • Collaboration between BCBAs, therapists, families, and other professionals
  • Supporting the whole individual, including communication, social-emotional development, independence, and quality of life
  • A positive, supportive environment where clinical ideas and creativity are encouraged
  • Continued professional growth and opportunities to develop your leadership skills
  • Making services meaningful, engaging, and relevant to each individual's everyday life

We believe great clinical work happens when professionals feel supported, respected, and connected to the mission of the organization.

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced BCBA to join our growing team. The BCBA will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing and overseeing individualized treatment programs, monitoring progress, collaborating with families and team members, and supporting staff in the effective implementation of evidence-based behavioral interventions.

The ideal candidate is a strong clinician and communicator who can balance clinical expertise with compassion, flexibility, and a relationship-based approach.

Schedule & Employment

  • Full-Time: 20–40 hours per week (hourly to start)
  • Full-time position has the potential to move towards salary with benefits
  • Contractor opportunities: Hourly compensation available
  • Schedule may include a combination of clinical, supervisory, administrative, and collaborative responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify client strengths, needs, and treatment priorities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention strategies based on ABA principles and each client's unique needs.
  • Monitor client progress and analyze data to evaluate treatment effectiveness.
  • Make clinically appropriate modifications to programs based on ongoing assessment and progress.
  • Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, therapists, educators, and other professionals.
  • Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to direct-care staff and caregivers.
  • Support staff in implementing behavioral strategies consistently and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, progress notes, treatment records, and other required documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with clients and their families.
  • Stay current with developments, research, and best practices in ABA and behavioral health.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the continued growth of SBS's clinical programs.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Current BCBA certification in good standing
  • Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and evidence-based behavioral practices
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including individuals on the autism spectrum
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to work independently while managing clinical responsibilities effectively
  • Experience working with children and families
  • Experience developing and overseeing individualized behavior intervention programs

Preferred

  • 2+ years of BCBA/supervisory experience
  • Experience supervising and mentoring behavior technicians or other clinical staff
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary or family-centered service environments

The SBS Difference

At SBS, we don't believe progress is defined only by data points. Data is important—but so are relationships, confidence, communication, connection, and the ability to participate meaningfully in everyday life.

Our goal is to create an environment where individuals can learn, grow, connect, and thrive, while giving families the tools and support they need along the way.

If you are a BCBA who wants to be part of a team that values compassion, collaboration, clinical excellence, creativity, and meaningful relationships, we'd love to hear from you.

Come grow with SBS—and help us continue making a difference, one relationship at a time.
