BCBA / BCaBA – Flexible Part-Time Opportunity

Balance in Behavior | In-Home & Community-Based ABA Services | Utah

Position Type: Part-Time with Opportunity for Growth

Compensation Range: BCBA ($60-$80/billable hour) BCaBA ($32-$42/billable hour)

About Balance in Behavior

Balance in Behavior is a growing, clinician-led ABA company providing individualized, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming services to children and families throughout Salt Lake, Davis, Weber, and Cache Counties.

We believe meaningful progress begins with understanding each individual, building trusting relationships, and creating environments where children feel safe, supported, and empowered to learn and grow.

Our approach integrates the science of behavior with compassionate, relationship-centered care. We recognize that every child has unique strengths, developmental needs, motivations, and ways of experiencing the world. Our focus extends beyond reducing challenging behaviors to supporting communication, emotional regulation, independence, meaningful relationships, and practical skills that improve everyday life.

We are seeking a BCBA or BCaBA who shares these values and would enjoy being part of a collaborative team where clinical judgment, curiosity, compassion, and individuality are valued.

Why Work With Balance in Behavior?

Individualized, Relationship-Centered ABA

We believe effective treatment should be responsive to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. We emphasize functional understanding, positive reinforcement, natural environment teaching, intrinsic motivation, and interventions that respect each child's autonomy, dignity, and developmental needs.

A Supportive and Collaborative Team

As a smaller, growing company, we value genuine professional relationships, open communication, and collaboration. We encourage clinicians to share ideas, explore different perspectives, and participate in thoughtful clinical problem-solving.

Flexibility and Work-Life Balance

We recognize the importance of balancing meaningful professional work with personal and family responsibilities. This position offers a flexible part-time schedule with opportunities to gradually increase hours and clinical responsibilities as desired.

Meaningful Work With Children and Families

Our home-based model allows clinicians to develop relationships with children and caregivers in the environments where everyday life happens. We prioritize caregiver collaboration, practical interventions, and helping families build skills and strategies that support long-term growth and connection.

Professional Development and Growth

We value ongoing learning, reflective practice, and professional development. As Balance in Behavior continues to grow, clinicians have opportunities to expand their clinical experience, contribute ideas, and take on additional responsibilities aligned with their interests and strengths.

Position Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) to join our clinical team.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in applied behavior analysis, comfortable and responsible with working independently within their professional scope, and enjoys collaborating with families, technicians, and other professionals.

This position begins part-time, with the potential to expand into a larger caseload over the coming months.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct or assist with behavioral assessments, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), observations, and ongoing evaluations to identify individual strengths, needs, and treatment priorities.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized, evidence-based ABA treatment plans.
  • Analyze behavioral data, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and make appropriate recommendations or adjustments to programming.
  • Develop function-based behavior support plans that prioritize safety, communication, skill development, and meaningful behavioral outcomes.
  • Provide clinical supervision, training, and ongoing support to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), within the scope of certification and licensure.
  • Collaborate with parents and caregivers to develop practical strategies that support skill acquisition, emotional regulation, independence, and generalization in everyday life.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals, including educators, therapists, and healthcare providers, as appropriate.
  • Participate in clinical consultation, team meetings, and professional development.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, treatment plans, progress reports, and supervision records in accordance with applicable professional, regulatory, and payer requirements.
  • BCaBA candidates will provide services under the supervision of a qualified BCBA.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current BCBA or BCaBA certification in good standing.
  • Utah licensure appropriate to the position.
  • Strong knowledge of ABA principles, functional assessment, data collection, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Experience developing, implementing, or supporting individualized treatment programs.
  • Strong communication, organizational, clinical documentation, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, technicians, and other professionals.
  • Reliable transportation to clients' homes and community locations.
  • Experience supervising and training RBTs.
  • Experience working with children diagnosed with autism and co-occurring developmental, emotional, or behavioral conditions.
  • Experience conducting FBAs and developing individualized behavior support plans.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and assent-based practices.
  • Interest in natural environment teaching, functional communication, emotional regulation, and caregiver collaboration.

Preferred

  • Experience providing home-based ABA services.

Who We're Looking For

We would especially enjoy working with someone who:

  • Values understanding the function and context of behavior rather than focusing solely on compliance.
  • Recognizes the importance of safety, trust, and connection in the learning process.
  • Respects individual differences and approaches children and families with curiosity and compassion.
  • Enjoys collaborating with parents and helping families develop practical, sustainable strategies.
  • Is thoughtful, reflective, and open to continued professional learning.
  • Values clinical independence while appreciating the benefits of consultation and teamwork.
  • Wants to contribute to a growing company where their experience, perspective, and ideas matter.

Benefits and Opportunities

  • Flexible part-time schedule with opportunities to increase hours and responsibilities.
  • Opportunity to expand hours as caseloads grow.
  • In-home and community-based services throughout Salt Lake, Davis, and Weber Counties.
  • Opportunities for professional development and increased clinical responsibilities.
  • PTO and major holiday pay
  • Mileage reimbursement for eligible work-related travel
  • Competitive compensation with opportunities for yearly wage increases based on experience, performance, and professional growth.
  • Continuing education and professional development reimbursement.
  • Support for professional certification and licensure renewal.
  • Paid clinical meetings, consultation, and required training.
  • Opportunities for mentorship, clinical leadership, and expanded responsibilities.
  • A supportive, collaborative work environment that values professional judgment, individual strengths, and work-life balance.
