Catalyst Family Inc. is seeking passionate and experienced leaders to join its Board of Directors and help guide one of California’s largest state-funded nonprofit organizations.

About Catalyst Family Inc.

Catalyst Family Inc. is dedicated to enhancing and strengthening communities throughout California. Our high-quality programs serve children and families in a variety of settings, including licensed childcare centers, recreation programs, seasonal camps, and Court Waiting Room Programs. In Northern California, we also support families and childcare providers through resource and referral services, childcare assistance and professional development opportunities.

We take pride in delivering responsive, community-centered programs that reflect the unique needs of the populations we serve.

Role of the Board of Directors

The primary goal of the Board is to ensure the long-term sustainability and impact of Catalyst Family Inc. Board members partner with executive leadership to:

• Shape and oversee the organization’s strategic direction
• Provide oversight of operational effectiveness and growth
• Support and advance the organization’s mission and impact
• Serve as ambassadors within their communities and professional networks
• Help cultivate relationships and resources that strengthen the organization

Responsibilities & Expectations

Board members are active participants in governance and are expected to:

• Attend quarterly board meetings
• Serve on at least one board committee
• Participate in occasional teleconference meetings
• Contribute informed, thoughtful decision-making
• Uphold high standards of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality
• Demonstrate financial literacy and sound judgment

• Health and medical fields
• Business Ownership / Entrepreneurship
• Legal
• Human Resources
• Media and Marketing
• Philanthropy, foundations, or cultural/community organizations

Stipend & Travel

Board members will be given an annual stipend of $2,000 ($500 per quarterly meeting), plus travel-related expenses such as accommodations and mileage reimbursement.
