Board Member

Starr Prepp is a community organization providing free resources and support to K-12 students and families in Los Angeles. We’re looking for volunteer (NOT A PAID POSITION) Advisory Board Members to help guide our growth as we work toward nonprofit status through fiscal sponsorship. This is a real role with real responsibility. We’re a small, fast-moving organization building the foundation for long-term impact.

Open roles (one person per role)

• Chair: Leads board meetings, keeps the board focused on our goals, and a strong leader to help move he organization forward.
• Secretary: Takes notes at meetings, keeps records of decisions, and helps with communications.
• Treasurer: Reviews the budget and fundraising progress, and advises on spending priorities. Our future fiscal sponsor will hold and manage the funds.

All board members

• Provide strategic guidance on programs, growth and direction
• Support resource development, including introductions and fundraising ideas
• Act as an ambassador for Starr Prepp within your networks
• Attend quarterly board meetings
• No legal or financial liability. This is an advisory role, not a governing one.

Time commitment: Flexible, with periodic meetings.

Location: Applicants must live in Los Angeles, CA.

This role is UNPAID and volunteer-based. In exchange, we offer:
