Why Infinium

Infinium is reimagining how the world powers, moves, and computes. With Infinium Energy™, the company transforms waste carbon into ultra-low carbon eFuels that decarbonize aviation, industry, and transport. Through Infinium Edge™, Infinium brings a new thermal infrastructure to data centers—unlocking extreme compute performance by removing heat as a constraint. Grounded in deep chemistry and energy systems expertise, Infinium’s platforms turn carbon and heat from limits into opportunities.

The Role

Infinium Operations Texas, LLC is seeking an experienced Board Operator Technician to support operations at our advanced eFuels production facility in Pecos, Texas. This is a critical control-room role responsible for safely and efficiently operating plant systems through a DCS/PLC interface, working closely with field operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

What You’ll Do

As a Board Operator Technician, you will be at the center of plant operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant production. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with Infinium’s Roadrunner Execution Management Team to ensure a smooth turnover from construction activities to operations activities
  • Collaborate and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the plant
  • Work closely with Infinium’s Training Officer to develop training materials and help train future Field Operators
  • Operate and monitor DCS/PLC control systems to manage production, utilities, compression, and separation processes
  • Adjust process variables (pressure, flow, temperature, levels) to meet production and quality targets
  • Respond to alarms, abnormal conditions, and process upsets using established operating procedures
  • Maintain accurate shift logs and ensure effective shift handovers
  • Coordinate continuously with field technicians, maintenance, and supervision
  • Ensure compliance with all EHS, environmental, permitting, and LOTO requirements
  • Support incident reporting, root cause investigations, and emergency response drills
  • Identify equipment or process issues and coordinate corrective actions
  • Participate in preventive maintenance planning and execution
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, flow sheets, and control logic
  • Support process optimization, continuous improvement, and system upgrades
  • Achieve and maintain required unit, permit writer, and safety certifications
  • Provide guidance to field technicians and support daily unit objectives

What We’re Looking For

  • Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent training in Process Technology, Instrumentation, or Electrical disciplines
  • 5–8 years of operating experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, or similar industrial environments desirable
  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating DCS or PLC systems (e.g., Honeywell, Emerson DeltaV, Yokogawa, Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
  • Strong understanding of industrial process systems and alarm management
  • Ability to troubleshoot control loops and process deviations
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills
  • Comfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Maintenance experience is a plus

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Exposure to industrial environments and hazardous materials
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform climbing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and balancing as required
