Boarding Cattery Manager

About the role

The Boarding Cattery Manager will lead and oversee the daily operations of the boarding cattery to ensure efficient and high-quality cat boarding services at our Mornington center, which focuses exclusively on cat boarding services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the boarding cattery to ensure efficient and high-quality cat boarding services.
• Select, supervise, and train staff responsible for feeding, cleaning, and caring for boarded cats, ensuring consistent service standards.
• Monitor the health, wellbeing, and behaviour of cats in the facility and ensure appropriate care procedures are implemented.
• Supervise and coordinate staff handling customer bookings, enquiries, and check-in/check-out procedures to ensure efficient operations and a positive client experience.
• Establish and maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety within the cattery facility.
• Develop and implement operational procedures and staff routines to ensure smooth workflow and consistent service quality.
• Monitor inventory levels of cat food, litter, bedding, and other supplies, and coordinate purchasing when required.
• Oversee the management of customer feedback and service issues, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement in service quality.
• Ensure the cattery operates in compliance with relevant animal welfare regulations, workplace health and safety requirements, and company policies.
• Report operational performance to management and contribute to the continuous improvement of service quality and operational efficiency.

About you

• At least a Diploma in relevant field or three years work experience in similar position
• Strong background in cattery management and pet care operations.
• Knowledge of animal welfare, hygiene, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with staff leadership experience.
• Customer-focused, able to manage bookings, enquiries, and feedback professionally.
• Highly organised, with strong time management and decision-making skills.
• Ability to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to maintain high standards of care.
