Boat Captain

About the role

The SOAR Ocean Club Boat Captain is the licensed master of the transfer and tender vessels that carry guests between the Pattaya shoreside embarkation point and the floating ocean club. The safety of every guest during transit begins and ends with this role.

Key responsibilities

• Navigate the transfer route between the Ocean Marina Pattaya and SOAR Ocean Club safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Thai maritime traffic regulations
• Ensure all passenger safety briefings are delivered before departure and that all guests are correctly seated and secured
• Ensure smooth, dignified embarkation and disembarkation for guests — particularly VIP and HNWI guests requiring elevated handling
• Maintain the cleanliness, presentation, and seaworthiness of the transfer vessel to SOAR brand standards
• Continuously assess weather forecasts, sea state, wind speed, and visibility conditions before and during each operational event

About you

• Valid Thai commercial vessel operator license (or international equivalent recognized by Thai Maritime Enforcement Command)
• Minimum 3 years experience as a licensed captain or master of small commercial passenger craft
• Proven competency navigating coastal and inshore waters — Gulf of Thailand experience advantageous
• STCW Basic Safety Training (mandatory)
• VHF Radio Operator License (Short Range Certificate or equivalent)
• First Aid & CPR/AED certified
• Man overboard drill certification and practical competency
• Fluent English & Thai
