Boatyard Hand

Yaringa Boat Harbour is offering an exciting opportunity for the role of Boatyard Hand at Yaringa Boat Harbour.

Facilities include 75, 40 and 35 tonne marine travel lifts, Abbi Hydraulic lifting trailer, Marina Berths, dry storage for 200+ trailerable boats, and hardstand space for 100+ boats.

This is your chance to join an enthusiastic team in a fast-paced marine service environment with extensive training provided to advance your skills in all aspects of yard operations and associated marina activities.

Reporting to the Boatyard Supervisor, your key tasks will consist of but not limited to:

• Safe and efficient operation of travel lifts, Abbi Trailer and associated hardstand equipment.
• Safe and efficient launch and retrieval of fishing boats and trailer sailors using tractors.
• Ensuring that lifting, standing and launching works are completed safely and in line with expected time constraints.
• Working closely with team members to achieve safe and efficient daily yard operations.
• Ensuring maintenance of lifting equipment to ensure optimum working condition.
• Making sure that routine maintenance of the yard, docks, plant and equipment and general amenities, is completed to schedule and to industry standard.
• Daily meetings with Harbour management to detail activities and forward planning of work.

The ideal person would have:

• Marine industry experience, including Travel Lift operations.
• Ability to manoeuvre vessels.
• A forklift & current boat license is preferred but not essential.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Car license is essential.
• Australian Residency
• Awareness of workplace safety, health, quality and environmental standards.
• Experience in boat yard work is preferred but not essential.
