The West Plaza Bodega is an intersection of bakery, convenience store, sandwich counter, and coffee shop from Blackhole Bakery, a premier bakery that excels in high-quality pastries and breads. West Plaza Bodega is an intersection of Blackhole Bakery pastries, craft coffee & tea, breakfast sandwiches, and boutique retail provisions. 1. Hospitality: Offer open and generous hospitality that creates memorable guest experiences going beyond mere service.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Hospitality

Blackhole provides our guests inviting hospitality that exceeds mere service. We take a transparent and direct approach to hospitality that aims to provide a memorable, positive experience to all our guests.

· Greet each guest warmly, as you would a member of your own community.

· Share knowledge of our pastries, food, beverages, and retail items, ensuring all staff are equally informed and confident.

· Prepare and serve food efficiently, following recipes and maintaining the highest quality standards.

· Answer all phone calls promptly, politely, and professionally.

· Craft beverages quickly and precisely, adhering to recipes and quality expectations.

· Present all food and drinks with care and attention to detail, creating visually appealing experiences.

· Build relationships with guests through education, conversation, and friendly interaction to create memorable connections.

Operations

· Communicate in a clear, professional manner.

· Work in all areas of the business as needed, front counter, barista, retail space, food running, kitchen, expo, prep, and dishwashing.

· Grow job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and materials.

· Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards, sanitation regulations, and all proper food and beverage safety procedures as outlined by the health department.

· Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and communicating issues.

· Practice accurate money handling

· Work with management to improve quality results by evaluating processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the workflow and visual appearance of the store and coffee bar.

· Stock and replenish ingredients, coffee beans, paper goods, and supplies. Assist Management with maintaining supply stock.

· Thoroughly follow through with all cleaning assignments.

· Take responsibility for the store as the manager on duty as if the manager were on duty

· Maintain a positive attitude. Treat everyone with respect, including customers, coworkers, management, baristas and production teams.

· Follow manager’s instructions and support operations with any special requests or initiatives.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
• 1 year café or coffee shop experience
• Familiarity with telephone, office, and point-of-sale software
• Food handlers card and liquor license (when applicable)
• Current driver’s license (when applicable)
