Boilermaker/Welder

Upton Engineering & Manufacturing (UEM) is a locally owned and operated engineering and advanced manufacturing business based in Gladstone, Central Queensland.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Boilermaker / Welder to join our fabrication team.

This is an opportunity to work across a variety of fabrication projects, materials and industries within a well-equipped workshop. We're looking for team members who takes pride in their workmanship, values quality and safety, and enjoys being part of a team that works together to deliver a high standard of work.

Your work will include:

• Fabricating and welding to engineering drawings and specifications
• Structural, piping and general fabrication across a variety of materials
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and welding symbols
• Working to approved welding procedures
• Producing high-quality work in accordance with client specifications and quality requirements
• Completing in-process quality checks and required documentation
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Contributing to continuous improvement across the workshop

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Proven experience as a Boilermaker, Fabricator or Welder
• Ability to pass a weld test – 2G butt weld as a minimum
• Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
• High attention to detail
• Commitment to quality and safe work practices
• Strong team player with a collaborative approach
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work
• A positive attitude and reliable approach to work
