About GT Boilermaking

GT Boilermaking is a locally owned and operated Kalgoorlie-based fabrication, maintenance and site services company supporting mining, processing and fixed plant operations throughout the Goldfields.

Our work includes shutdowns, maintenance, breakdowns, structural fabrication and installation, repairs, wear protection and project works across a range of local client sites.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Boilermaking Supervisor – Site Services to join our team and play an important role in the continued growth of our site services division.

The Role

This is a hands-on, site-based supervisory role working across shutdowns, maintenance, construction and project works throughout the Goldfields.

You will be responsible for leading site crews, coordinating works and maintaining strong communication between GT Boilermaking, our employees and our clients.

This is not an office-based supervisory position. You will have a strong on-site presence and be comfortable working alongside your crew in active mining and fixed plant environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate boilermakers and site crews.
• Plan daily works, labour, tooling, equipment and site requirements.
• Review job scopes, drawings and work packs.
• Run pre-starts, toolbox meetings and shift handovers.
• Ensure permits, JSAs/JHAs and site documentation are completed correctly.
• Monitor job progress, productivity, workmanship and quality.
• Identify scope changes, delays and additional works.
• Provide clear shift handovers and progress updates.
• Coordinate cranes, rigging, EWPs and scaffolding where required.
• Liaise directly with clients, supervisors, planners and GT management.
• Assist with job scoping, site measurements and planning upcoming works.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety and lead the crew in a professional and respectful manner.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Boilermaker/Fabricator trade qualification.
• Strong boilermaking, fabrication and fixed plant knowledge.
• Previous supervisory, leading-hand or site leadership experience.
• Experience within mining, shutdowns, fixed plant maintenance or site services.
• Ability to read and understand fabrication and structural drawings.
• Strong planning, communication and organisational skills.
• Confidence dealing directly with clients and site management.
• A practical approach to problem-solving and changing site priorities.
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and workmanship.
• The ability to lead a crew while maintaining a positive and respectful working environment.
• Strong understanding of WA mining safety requirements.

Licences & Training

Applicants must hold:

• Unrestricted Australian C Class Driver's Licence.
• Current Working at Heights & Confined Space.
• BSBWHS411 – Implement and Monitor WHS Policies, Procedures and Programs.
• BSBWHS414 – Contribute to WHS Risk Management.
• White Card.
• Full Australian working rights.

Applicants do not need to already hold a Schedule 26 appointment, however they must be eligible and willing to obtain/maintain the required appointment.

Rigging, Forklift and EWP High Risk Work Licences are highly regarded, along with experience in shutdown planning, job scoping, estimating and structural installation.
