Bolt Torquing Technician

We are seeking a skilled Bolt Torquing Technician with hands-on experience in hydraulic torque wrenching, bolt tensioning, flange facing, and cold cutting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate bolt tightening, joint integrity, and precision machining in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, and client HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute hydraulic torque wrenching and bolt tensioning on flanges, valves, vessels, and static and rotating equipment.
• Follow approved tightening procedures, bolt-tightening sequences, torque values, and joint integrity requirements.
• Maintain accurate torque/tension records, job reports, and equipment inspection documentation.
• Perform in-situ flange facing and cold cutting operations, including pipe cutting and beveling, to meet specified tolerances and surface-finish requirements.
• Set up, operate, inspect, and maintain hydraulic pumps, hoses, gauges, torque wrenches, tensioning tools, and portable machining equipment.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly calibrated, inspected, and fit for use.
• Identify equipment defects, operational issues, and flange or bolting irregularities, and report them to the supervisor.
• Follow Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and all applicable client HSE procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors, QA/QC personnel, and other site teams during shutdowns, turnarounds, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and within the project schedule.

Requirements

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in bolt torquing, hydraulic bolt tensioning, and mechanical joint integrity activities.
• Practical experience with hydraulic torque wrenches, bolt tensioners, and associated equipment.
• Experience in flange facing, cold cutting, pipe cutting, and beveling is required.
• Knowledge of torque specifications, tightening sequences, flange joint integrity, and equipment calibration requirements.
• Familiarity with PTW, JSA, LOTO, and industrial HSE procedures.
• Experience working in oil and gas, petrochemical, power plant, or other industrial environments is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and method statements.
• Willingness to work at industrial sites and during shutdowns or turnarounds.
