We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented BOM & Configuration Coordinator/Engineer to support the management, integrity, and resolution of Bill of Materials (BOM) and configuration-related issues across engineering projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring product data accuracy, driving issue resolution, and working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain configuration control throughout the product lifecycle.

This role requires an individual who can confidently communicate with stakeholders at all levels, take ownership of complex issues, and drive them through to successful closure.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the integrity of Bills of Materials (BOMs) across engineering programmes and projects.
• Investigate, analyse, and resolve BOM-related discrepancies, inconsistencies, and data quality issues.
• Manage issue management tickets from identification through to resolution and closure.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, programme management, and other stakeholders to resolve BOM and configuration concerns.
• Proactively chase issue owners and stakeholders to ensure timely progress and closure of assigned actions.
• Review engineering changes and assess their impact on BOM structures and product configurations.
• Support configuration management activities, ensuring compliance with established processes and governance standards.
• Track and report issue status, risks, escalations, and progress to relevant project teams and management.
• Facilitate discussions and workshops to understand complex technical issues and agree resolution actions.
• Ensure accurate documentation of decisions, changes, actions, and lessons learned.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives relating to BOM, configuration management, and engineering data processes.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs) within an engineering, automotive,
• Strong understanding of product structures and engineering data management principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Confidence in engaging with and challenging stakeholders to drive issue resolution.
• Ability to understand and manage complex technical and cross-functional issues.
• Experience managing issue tracking systems and ensuring actions are progressed to closure.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Knowledge or experience of Configuration Management processes and principles.
• Experience with PLM, PDM, ERP, or engineering data management systems.
• Automotive industry experience.
• Familiarity with engineering change management processes.
• Understanding of product lifecycle management concepts.
